Australia 2018

Sydney
I stayed at Intercontinental Hotel at Sydney. The pool room has views of the Sydney harbor.

Exploring Manly Beach, including the ferry ride with panoramic views of the Sydney skyline.

Sunset from Mrs Macquarie’s chair, located on a peninsula at Sydney Harbor and in front of Royal Botanic Gardens.

Vivid Sydney, a light show that runs for three weeks. At night, the Sydney skyline turns into colorful light designs. This includes the Harbor Bridge and Opera House.

Noosa
Noosa is a resort town in the Sunshine Coast of Australia and consists of condos, restaurants, cafes, shops, beaches, and a national park. Noosa has something for everyone to do outdoors: lying at the beach, swimming in the ocean, hiking through the forrest, or climbing hills. There is also a river cruise, which I took in late afternoon.

It rained on and off during my time at Noosa, causing some in my travel group to nickname Sunshine Coast the Rainfall Coast. I captured dramatic lightning over the beach and a rainbow.

For those up to the task, hike up to the Laguna lookout, an observation point at the top of Noosa Heads (equivalent of climbing 30 flights of stairs). Great views of Noosa and the coastline, especially at sunset.

Australia Zoo, about one hour from Noosa, is more like a park built in the natural environment of Australian wildlife. I got to cuddle a koala, as well as pet a crocodile (a baby one) and a kangaroo. The zoo also has a crocodile demonstration where rangers feed the crocodile.
